“Technology in the classroom is here to stay. Consequently, it is time for educators to begin to have more sophisticated conversations about best practices and to explore the inherent challenges. The learning potential of educational technology is infinite, but as with every learning tool, platform, or approach, educators need to sift through the tensions and talk about the challenges and trade-offs. She was so imperfect and beautiful celebrities nowadays would never be caught dead with tan lines or have their dress sleeve slipping off like that in public but she was a real person she was someone with curves and a real opinion she promoted a healthy self image by practicing what she was preaching unlike celebrities nowadays who tell us to love ourselves while they are constantly spending thousands of dollars fixing themselves and dieting to look the way no average girl could ever look that is why she is my idol and I’d give anything to have her back

When I was looking for my first job, I cried all the time. Rejection in the job world was new to me, and it was absolutely miserable. I know it’s hard to imagine, but it’s a worthwhile experience. It was humbling and exactly what I needed. I didn’t find a job the first year after I graduated. I subbed for a year, read a lot, learned a lot. I didn’t even get a full-time job the following year. It was a sub job for the first semester. THEN, I got a job. From a recommendation from my previous principal. It was a tough ladder to climb, but I feel like I appreciate my job so much, and I work my butt off all the time. Also, I survived and am better off for the experience.

I guess what I’m saying is to do your best, but understand that not getting a job right away doesn’t make you any less of a teacher or person. There are so many other things you can do, and that credential isn’t going anywhere. Be open to other possibilities. I wish someone had told me that when I was wallowing in my own misery and self-loathing. *hugs*

How schools are organized, and what happens in classrooms, hasn’t changed much in the century since the Progressive Era. On the whole, we still have the same teachers, in the same roles, with the same level of knowledge, in the same schools, with the same materials, and much the same level of parental support.

Sometimes intentionally, and it freaks my parents out that I talk like that to strangers’ kids.

My sister has requested that I bring my teacher voice & face along on her bachelorette weekend in order to keep the other bridesmaids in line. I giggled when she asked. I’m not sure if she knows what she’s asking for.

I did this to my brother a lot — he liked to rock back on the dining room chairs, and I was working in a first-grade class where “four on the floor” was an important mantra thanks to the tennis balls on the feet of the chair. You rock back on one of those and you end up on the floor.

What was worse was when I would walk past and without looking, noting it, or breaking from conversation, tilt the chair to put it back the way it was supposed to be. While he was still in it.

Then he was too mildly freaked-out to be annoyed.

I already queued this picture, but this commentary was too good to pass up.

You guys are, quite simply, excellent human beings.

One of my teacher voices drops an octave and it’s really low. When I use it on boyfriend he gives me this deadpan stare until I stop. Sometimes I don’t even realize it.

It always seems to be my serious voice that I answer in when the students ask a ridiculous question… use it a lot on my little sister and my parents. Don’t notice until they point it out.
